More and more homeowners are converting from traditional gas systems to electric heat pumps.
Why? Because a heat pump transfers heat from one location to another. It works by using a small amount of energy to move heat from a cold location to a warm location, or vice versa, depending on the mode of operation.
In heating mode, a heat pump takes heat from the outside air, ground or water and transfers it to a building's interior. In cooling mode, it works in reverse, by removing heat from the indoor air and expelling it outside. This process is achieved by circulating a refrigerant between two heat exchanger coils, one located inside the building and one located outside.
Heat pumps are considered a more energy-efficient and cost-effective alternative to traditional heating and cooling systems, such as furnaces and air conditioners. They can provide both heating and cooling, and can be used in a variety of settings.
